Lahang Tengah village is one of the oldest villages in the Gaung sub-district, at that time it was still known as the Central Lahang country and was still in the Gaung Anak Serka sub-district.During the Dutch colonial era, Lahang Tengah village was one of the places where the battle of the Indonesian nation against the invaders had occurred in the struggle at that time in Parit Tunjuk. One of the fighters in this village was shot dead by the Dutch, namely M. Dinnir.
